Post-Wedding Photographer Irvine – Regional Park Session

A RELAXED POST-WEDDING SESSION AT IRVINE REGIONAL PARK

Sometimes the wedding day flies by too fast, or life gets in the way. For Song and Tianchi, the pandemic meant they never got the formal portraits they dreamed of. Two years later, they decided to put the dress and tux back on for a post-wedding session at Irvine Regional Park. No guests, no timeline, just the two of them exploring the oak groves and lake at sunset. It’s the perfect way to reclaim that wedding magic without the stress.

Why Irvine Regional Park is Perfect for Post-Wedding Photos

ANCIENT OAK GROVES

Irvine Regional Park is famous for its massive Coastal Live Oaks. These ancient trees create a natural canopy that filters the sun, providing soft, dappled light even before golden hour. For a post-wedding session, this means we can shoot earlier in the afternoon without worrying about harsh shadows on your white dress or tuxedo.

The park features a serene lake with a rustic stone bridge that offers a classic, romantic backdrop. Unlike a busy wedding venue where you might be rushed through photos, here we can take our time. We used the lakeside path to capture quiet, reflective moments that felt more like a date than a photo shoot.

ZERO WEDDING STRESS

The best part of a post-wedding session is the freedom. Without a wedding planner checking a watch or guests waiting for dinner, we could explore the park at our own pace. Song and Tianchi were able to relax, laugh, and truly enjoy wearing their wedding attire again, resulting in photos that feel more peaceful and intimate than the frantic energy of a wedding day.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, the park charges an entrance fee per vehicle (usually $3 weekdays, $5 weekends). Professional photography permits are required by OC Parks, which I handle as part of our session planning.

  • Absolutely! "Day After" or "Anniversary" sessions are the best time to wear your wedding gear. We can go places you wouldn't risk on the actual wedding day (like tall grass or dirt trails) because you aren't worried about a perfectly clean hemline for a reception.

  • It can be busy on weekends with the train and the zoo. We typically stick to the quieter trails on the east side of the park or shoot on weekday evenings to have the beautiful oak trees to ourselves.
