Honest Love Stories: Orange County Couples & Engagement Photography

You want photos that feel like the two of you—inside jokes, wind-tousled hair, and that split-second look you share when the waves hush. I'm Venya, an Irvine couples photographer who trades stiff poses for candid storytelling.

Whether it's a surprise proposal at Crystal Cove, a relaxed engagement session in Laguna Beach, or just documenting your life together in Newport Coast, I guide you just enough to keep things effortless. The result is a cinematic gallery that captures the way you actually love, not just how you pose.

Couples Session Details & Pricing

Most sessions run 90–120 minutes. You’ll start with a quick prep call to pick the perfect Irvine-area location and nail down outfits. Then we’ll spend up to two hours chasing natural light—no stiff poses—capturing candid laughs, tender moments, and a few guided shots. Within two weeks, you’ll receive a private online gallery of high-res images ready to share or print.

Aim for simple, coordinated outfits in neutral or muted tones—think soft creams, grays, and denim blues—so you pop against any backdrop. I send a full engagement session style guide once you book. Bring one full outfit change if you like variety.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Crystal Cove State Park for golden-hour beach shots, the oak groves at Irvine Regional Park for a woodland vibe, and the colorful murals around Downtown Irvine. Laguna Beach overlooks (e.g., Heisler Park) and the salt flats at El Toro Marine Base also make stunning backdrops.

  • Absolutely. Well-behaved pets on a leash are welcome, and I’ll plan a few breaks so they can stay comfortable. Personal props—like signs, picnic setups, or heirloom items—add unique storytelling elements. Just let me know in advance so I can adjust timing and framing.

  • Yes—I serve all of Southern California. Sessions within a 20-mile radius of Irvine are included; beyond that, a modest travel fee of $0.75/mile applies. I’ll confirm any fees when you inquire so there are no surprises.

  • Yes! I love capturing proposals. I help you plan the location, the best lighting time, and my "hiding spot" to ensure we capture the moment perfectly without spoiling the surprise. Once the "Yes!" happens, we transition into a mini engagement session.

  • Absolutely. Most couples bring two looks: one casual (jeans/tees) and one dressier (maxi dress or button-down). This gives your gallery variety. I recommend starting dressy and ending casual for the playful, running-into-the-ocean shots.
