MALIS FAMILY PHOTOS ON THE DOCKS OF LIDO ISLE

There’s something timeless about Lido Isle during the holidays — quiet docks, boats strung with lights, and the kind of coastal calm that makes everything feel slower. The Malis family brought their German Shepherd along for the session, which made things wonderfully unpredictable. We started near the water and finished at their home just before sunset, where candles and soft window light gave the gallery a different kind of warmth. It was the kind of session that unfolds naturally — no overthinking, no posing too hard, just genuine connection and great light. A Holiday Photoshoot That Felt Effortless

GOLDEN HOUR LIGHT

The light was perfect — low, warm, and reflecting off the harbor just enough to give everything a soft glow. We stayed near the water at first, letting the natural backdrop do most of the work. The docks were quiet and calm, which made it easy to keep things relaxed and unposed.

LETTING THINGS UNFOLD

Nothing was rushed or overly planned. We kept moving, followed the light, and let the family settle into the moment. That’s when the good stuff happens — not when you force it, but when you leave space for it.

WINDING DOWN INSIDE

We wrapped things up in their backyard, with the pool catching the last bit of light. The setting was easy and familiar, which made the last few frames feel natural. No staging — just real moments to close out the evening.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I don’t over-direct. We move, talk, let moments happen, and adjust as we go. It’s more about pacing and comfort than perfect positioning — especially with kids (or dogs) in the mix.

  • Absolutely. If you want to start outdoors and end at home — like this session — we can do that. Just let me know during booking so we can plan for light and timing.

  • If you’re aiming for November or December, I recommend booking at least 6 weeks in advance. It’s one of the busiest times of year, and early booking gives you more flexibility with dates and locations.
