Doheny State Beach Camping Photographer – RV & Beach Session
FAMILY CAMPING MEMORIES AT DOHENY STATE BEACH
Camping is about slowing down and connecting without distractions. Whether you are in an RV, a tent, or a vintage Airstream, Doheny State Beach offers one of the best beachfront campgrounds in California. My goal with camping sessions is to document the real, unposed fun of your trip—scooters on the pavement, coffee by the fire, and playing fetch on the beach—so you can put your phone away and actually be in the memories.
Why Camping Sessions Create the Best Memories
RELAXED ON YOUR TURF
Kids are happiest when they are in their own element. Shooting right at your campsite means they can ride their bikes, play with their toys, and run around without the pressure of "behaving" for a formal portrait. It captures the authentic joy of their childhood vacations.
DOG-FRIENDLY & EASY
Doheny State Beach is one of the most dog-friendly spots in Dana Point. Since your pup is likely camping with you, including them in the photos is effortless. We can capture them lounging by the RV or playing fetch on the beach (where permitted), making the family portrait truly complete.
NO TRAVEL STRESS
You are already on vacation—you shouldn't have to drive to a photo shoot. I come directly to your campsite at Doheny. We can shoot the "camp life" candid moments first, then walk a few steps to the water for golden hour portraits. It’s the easiest photo session you’ll ever book.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No, that’s the best part! I come directly to your campsite. We typically start with candid photos around the RV or tent, then take a short walk to the day-use area or the water’s edge for sunset portraits. No car seats or traffic required.
-
Yes! Doheny State Beach campgrounds are dog-friendly (on leash). While dogs aren't allowed on the actual sand of the main beach, the campsite and the grassy picnic areas are perfect for including them. We usually shoot the "whole family + dog" photos at your site first.
-
Don't worry about it. Camping is supposed to look lived-in! I focus on the connection between your family, not the cooler or the stack of firewood in the background. If something is really distracting, I'll find angles that frame it out, but generally, the gear adds to the story.

The best camping photos happen when you are doing something. Plan to roast s'mores, ride bikes, play a card game at the picnic table, or just hang out in the back of the SUV. These activities give you something to do with your hands and keep the kids happy.
-
Absolutely. I cover all the local coastal campgrounds, including San Clemente State Beach and Crystal Cove (Moro Campground). If you are camping anywhere along the Orange County coast, I can meet you there.
